Description |
A pair of boy's machine made pants comprised of navy and burgundy woven plaid wool. The pants have a center pleat and at each leg cuff there are four decorative black buttons (the proper left leg is missing two, the right leg is missing three). There is a white and blue striped cotton used for the inner waistband, plus an additional brown cotton waistband with ten buttonholes. There is a button closure at each side on the waist, using a plaid covered button. Stamped on the waistband is the number "784424" followed by the maker's stamp which reads: "EXCELSIOR WAISTBAND PATENTED JUNE 29, 1836 4 S [illegible] N.Y." There is one slit pocket on the proper back right side and the lower leg is lined in bown cotton. |
