Description |
This figured and fancy coverlet is comprised of two woven panels handstitched together, made using natural cotton and blue, green and red wool. The predominate motif is a repeated 4 x 4 floral wreath pattern. There is a 7.50" wide border consisting of a double bird and tree pattern on the right, left and bottom edge. There is 2.50" long self-fringe on the right and left side and applied 3.00" long fringe at the bottom. At each lower corner there is a 7.50" x 8.00" cornerstone which both read: "ISAAC KEPNER. N. HANOVER T. MONTGOMERY. COUNTY. 1836." |
