Description |
This figured and fancy coverlet is comprised of two woven panels handstitched together, made using natural cotton and red, green and blue wool. The predominate motif is a repeated floral and star pattern. There is a 8.00" wide rose motif border on the right, left and bottom edge. There is 3.50" long wool fringe on the same three sides, the right and left edge have self-fringe, while there bottom has applied fringe. At each lower corner there is a 8.125" x 8.750" cornerstone which both read: "SAMUEL GILBERT TRAPPE MONTGOMERY COUNTY. 1855. WILLIMINA KEYSER |
