Description |
A ladies shirtwaist made out of white cotton lawn. The shirt has a high stand up collar comprised of bands of bobbin lace and thin pintucked cotton. The front of the bodice has a created bib using the insertions of lace and pintucked cotton. There is an additional sloped insertion of lace contrasted with a centered panel of the pintucked cotton. Flanking the center panel are satins stitched embroidered daisy motifs with eyelets. the embroidered designs are also flanked by insertions of lace running from shoulder to hem. There are also tiny pintucks at the shoulders than fan downward. The sleeves are set into the arm syce and are gathered at the shoulders. Three is a panel of pintucked cotton flanked on either side by an insertion of lace, running from the shoulder to the cuff. At the cuff there is a pintucked band also flanked with two rows of lace. At the back there is a centered button closure comprised of seven buttons, and a shorter hem. The shirtwaist is machine constructed with hand finishing details. |
