Description |
Perkiomen Valley quilt comprised of 30 x 30 block formation of individual squares. Each block averages 3.00" x 3.00" and is made of various printed and plain cottons arranged to create the Perkiomen Valley pattern. The surrounding border is 2.00" wide and made of red cotton with a yellow ball print. The outer border is 1.75" wide and made of a plain pink cotton. In each corner there is a 3.75" wide four patch block made of plain pink, red and white cotton. There is a 1/4" wide fold over binding from back to front. The entire quilt is handstitched with white thread and a SPI of 5-7. The back is comprised of a beige cotton with a blue bird and pink and white rose print. A muslin sleeve has been attached by museum staff for display purposes. |
