Description |
A bleached linen sampler with one alphabet set and cross-stitched embroidery. At the top there is the alphabet set (missing the letter "J" but with an extra "C," "D," "I" "M" and "T") in uppercase typical and ornamental block lettering, all embroidered in red cotton. Following the alphabet are the numbers "1-9" and the digit "0" and the name "B SANDSS" (with an extra "S") in uppercase typical lettering. With the exception of an "&" symbol and a diamond, there are no other embroidered motifs in the lower half, but it is likely there would have been designs in the blank space if finished. Framing the sampler is a red cotton border in a "x" design. |
