Description |
Fan quilt comprised of a 6 x 6 block formation of an applied fan. Each block averages 10.00" x 10.00" and consists of a fan made of eight pieces of printed and plain cottons and wools attached to a solid faded red or solid faded green ground with arched quilt stitching. The edge of each swatch is decorated with silk embroidery stitching. There are four surrounding borders, with the most inner border measuring 2.625" wide and made of plain faded grey/green cotton, the second most inner border is 2.50" wide and made of faded red cotton, the third border is 2.50" wide and made of the same faded grey/green fabric and the outer border is 2.25" wide and also made of the same faded red cotton. All four borders have a clam shell quilt stitched design. There is a 1/4" wide foldover binding from front to back. The entire quilt is handstitched with brown or green thread and a SPI of 7. The back is comprised of a red, black and white printed plaid cotton. |
