Description |
A pair of man's pants made out of black wool twill. The pants have a three button fly plus a button at the waistband. There are six additional buttons attached to the inside of the waistband. There is a black wool tape trim attached to the side seams. There are two side seam pocket, trimmed with the wool tape, as well as a fob pocket and two slit pockets at the back. There is an additional strap and clasp at the back waist. For an unknown reason the proper right leg has been altered, by unpicking the hem. The inside of the waistband is lined in a off white cotton. There is a maker's tag attached to the inside cotton lining of the fob pocket, which reads "LAFAYETTE A.R. LICHETTI 902 WALNUT STREET PHILADELPHIA, Mr. [illegible] Oberholtzer (handwritten) Date (blank)." |

Lafayette A.R. Lichetti was a tailor located in Philadelphia. The pants were made for a Mr. Oberholtzer, but there is no additional information about the owner. There is no explanation for the shorter leg. |
