Description |
A ladies bodice comprised of a taupe and light blue striped wool. The blue stripes vary in width, but the widest stripe have a woven oval pattern. The bodice has a high rounded neck with a high yoke. The yoke is constructed like a bib, as the bodice closes with hook and eyes at the back proper left shoulder. There is gathering along the yoke seam which creates a billowed effect, only reemphasized by the smocking at the waist which also creates a gathered effect. The bodice has demi-gigot sleeves set into the arm syce, with gathering at the shoulder seam and puffed shoulders tapering down until the cuff. The bodice is lined in brown cotton with metal stays inserted into the seams. The bodice is machine constructed with hand finishing details. |
