Description |
This figured and fancy coverlet has been woven into one panel using natural cotton and yellow, green and red wool. The predominate motif is a repeated 4 x 5 star/sun pattern and lily wreath design There is a 9.50" wide border of a tulip and pyramid of flowers pattern with applied 3.00" long wool fringe. There is a 9.00" wide border of the same pattern on the bottom with no fringe. The top edge has applied 3.00" long wool fringe but no border. At each lower corner there is a 9.25" x 9.00" cornerstone, which both read: "MADE BY C. FEHR. IN. EMAUS FOR ____ (intentionally left blank for client) 1842." |
