Description |
A cradle coverlet or fragment from a double weave coverlet. Woven using blended yarns, the cream is made of bleached linen and natural cotton, while the blue is made of linen and wool. The predominate motif is a twelve cross pattern. There is a 4.00" wide linear border on all four sides. The fringe is actually created from fraying the edges. This coverlet probably came from a larger coverlet ca. 1815. |
