Description |
A ladies dress comprised of a black crepe with white, pea green and mustard yellow floral and circular print. The dress has a very low "V" neckline and a panel of lace has been attached to one side (proper right) at an angle. There is an excess of the main fabric which indicates the collar was probably ripped and mended, and that the shape of the current neckline is not original. The lace appears to be woven underneath a panel of the printed crepe and hangs down on the proper left side. The dress has a dropped waist, highlight by two attached self-fabric belts that meet in the middle. There is currently no buckle or clasp, but it likely this dress once did. There are three pintucks at each shoulder and the sleeves are set into the arm syce. They are long and straight with a snap at each cuff. The skirt is gored and wide, but the hem is straight and even across. The dress is mainly machine stitched with some hand finishing details. |
