|Description||A square handspun tablecloth comprised of three panels of bleached pattern weave linen. Near the off center bottom are the cross-stitched initials "L.T." in brown silk. The top, right and left edges have a 1/8" wide foldover hem while the bottom edge has been left unfinished.|
According to the records this tablecloth was made for Lydia B. (Tyson) Kulp (1808-1890), as a baby. Her great granddaughter believes this piece was made by Lydia's nurse, but the nurse's name is unknown. Lydia was the daughter of Isaac N. (1766-1823) and Barbara H. (Borneman) Tyson (1777-1854), of Skippack Township, Montgomery County. As an adult, Lydia would go on to marry Jacob M. Kulp (1811-1875).
