Description A man's handstitched shirt made out of handspun bleached plain weave linen. There is a high neck with the attachment of a self-fabric band at the collar. There is a button closure comprised of three covered buttons which stops at the chest. Attached to the bottom of the placket is an attached self-fabric panel, with the initials "F.S." embroidered in white silk. The sleeves are long and set into the arm syce with a banded cuff and a single covered button closure. At the hem there are side seam slits.
Provenance The initials pertain to the owner, but there is no additional information about the maker or origin of this piece.
